Camden School for Girls is a highly successful and oversubscribed inner London comprehensive secondary school with a rich historical heritage. The school was founded in 1871 by Frances Mary Buss, a pioneer for women’s education and the school has a long-standing history of ambition and excellence for all pupils regardless of background. We have a warm, welcoming and supportive ethos and aspire to excellence in all areas of the school provision. We have a strong sense of community and we foster an environment where everyone feels valued. Camden School for Girls is ranked 6th best comprehensive school nationally by the latest Parent Power report.

We are seeking to employ a Librarian to manage the school library and lead our school library activities working one day a week on a Monday. We are looking for an individual with the experience, knowledge and determination to inspire a passion for reading in students by leading a stimulating and vibrant library. The Librarian will support and enrich teaching and learning by enabling students to access a broad range of learning resources, develop learning and information handling skills, and promote literacy, reading for pleasure and independent learning.

The Camden School for Girls library is at the heart of the school and central to the school’s ethos and culture of reading and scholarship. The librarian would play a crucial role in this work.
